A great take in three steps.

  1. Connect a source. Choose Camera and allow access, or click Screens & windows to reveal the inline chooser below the source buttons. Click Add window only when you want to share a new screen, window, or browser tab. Selecting Screens & windows and switching existing previews never opens the browser picker. The browser asks you to choose each source once; it cannot show previews of windows you have not shared. For sound from your screen, enable “Share audio” in the picker when available.
  2. Make your recording. Optionally enable your microphone. Start recording, then click Camera or any window thumbnail to switch. Rename windows in the text field below each thumbnail. Use the × button to disconnect just that source. All selected sources are captured in one 16:9 video, with letterboxing where needed. Pause and resume anytime.
  3. Save your take. Stop recording to add it to your library. Click the download icon to save the video on your computer. Downloads use WebM, or MP4 when supported.

Photos: choose Photos above the preview, pick HD, Full HD or 4K, then select PNG or JPEG. Capture your camera or any connected screen with Take photo. Your Photos gallery has previews and full-size downloads. Photo resolution depends on the source, just like video; a lower-resolution source saved to 4K is upscaled.

Save the app: use Save app to download a standalone HTML file, then open it in a current desktop Chrome or Edge browser. No install is needed. Camera and screen sharing always ask for your browser's permission.

Use the floating-controls button beside Start recording for a small toolbar that stays above other apps. It also opens automatically when recording starts in supported desktop browsers. Use its face and monitor buttons to switch camera and desktop; use the window menu for Chrome, Firefox, or another connected source. Close the toolbar to return the preview to Studio; recording continues. The browser Stop sharing bar itself cannot be changed. Floating controls require desktop Chrome or Edge. Keep Studio or the floating toolbar visible and your computer awake. Browser storage can be cleared or fill up, so download anything you want to keep. Recording is designed for desktop browsers.
